Providing Comprehensive Environmental Services for North America
Get emergency response coverage in place―before you need it.
By signing up for Standby Emergency Response Coverage with Clean Harbors, you’ll have the peace of mind that your plant, facility, fleet, or business has the necessary coverage and response should an environmental emergency arise.
Under a Standby Emergency Response Agreement (SERA), Clean Harbors’ experts can perform a range of preparation activities that ensure rapid response time of personnel and equipment when it’s needed most:
A SERA also enables customers to list Clean Harbors as their emergency response provider on their response plans.
Clean Harbors is the leading Emergency Response provider in North America with over 50 internal locations capable of providing response, and hundreds more as part of our audited and approved subcontractor network. We can mobilize hundreds of experienced 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER trained and certified workers to meet the needs of any incident.
For customers at high risk for catastrophic losses, our emergency response management and supervisors are ICS/NIMS trained―ensuring seamless integration with government agencies, national response organizations, and spill management teams.
Work with one vendor through the entire process. Clean Harbors manages all aspects of an emergency response:
We also handle all paperwork in a prompt and transparent manner.
Our 24/7 Emergency Operations Center (EOC) located at our corporate headquarters in Norwell, Massachusetts ensures that your call will always be answered immediately by a spill response professional. Clean Harbors’ EOC duty operators are trained in managing and directing all emergency calls―regardless of the size or severity.
Clean Harbors is available upon request to provide training. We also will participate in announced spill drills initiated by your company and in unannounced spill drills initiated by government agencies.
With an agreement in place, Clean Harbors can perform a site visit to prepare prior to an actual response. This familiarization visit will provide insight and help determine environmentally-sensitive areas.
As an Oil Spill Removal Organization (OSRO), Clean Harbors holds Captain of the Port ratings for facilities and vessels in 56 ports under the U. S. Coast Guard’s Response Resource Inventory System (RRI). SERA customers can list Clean Harbors as their emergency response provider in their Facility Response Plans, which will help them meet government requirements as specified by the Oil Pollution Act (OPA) of 1990 and the Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Rule.
