Clean Harbors is committed to conserving natural resources and protecting the environment by providing viable alternatives to disposal.  Our Recycling Services offer a variety of recycling, reuse and reclamation options for hazardous and non-hazardous materials including solvents, chemicals and oil, light bulbs, transformers and other electrical equipment.

Our recycling and reuse program finds beneficial uses for manufacturing by-products, and we recycle oil, antifreeze and other automotive products. We blend high BTU liquids, solids and semi-solids for use as supplemental fuel in the manufacture of cement.

Used Oil Collection & Recycling Services

Recycling used oil products provides a cost-effective advantage over disposal (fuel blending) or incineration. Used Oil Re-Refining

Obsolete Equipment

Obsolete or nonfunctioning electronic equipment can be recycled.    With Clean Harbors’ unique processes, equipment is de-manufactured and the materials are recycled.  Materials such as light bulbs, computers, small home appliances, and utility company transformers are processed without endangering municipal landfills while gaining the opportunity for the recycling of component materials.

Resource Recovery System and By-product Waste Usage

As a by-product of our incineration operation in El Dorado Arkansas, Clean Harbors operates a resource recovery system that produces a clean calcium chloride solution, which is a beneficial and marketable product used in exploration and production of crude oil by the upstream sector of the oil industry. We also use byproduct waste, called “comparable fuels”, which are used as a substitute for purchased fuel in the operation of our Deer Park, Texas incineration facility.  This usage reduces our reliance on burning fossil fuel to operate our incineration kilns.
