What is required of all SQGs and LQGs?
Beginning January 22, 2025, all Small Quantity Generators (SQGs) and Large Quantity Generators (LQGs) are required to register for e-Manifest. Although not mandatory, Clean Harbors recommends that all Very Small Quantity Generators (VSQGs) and Polychlorinated Biphenyl (PCB) generators register.
What does Clean Harbors recommend SQGs and LQGs do?
You will need to register with the EPA’s e-Manifest system before the deadline (Jan. 22, 2025). We also recommend you utilize our online customer portal where you can sign-up to automatically be notified when your waste is received at one of our facilities. You can also utilize our online portal to access biannual reports, track waste, manage profiles, schedule waste pickups and much more!
What is changing with my hazardous waste shipment documents?
Clean Harbors is migrating hazardous waste shipment documents from the existing five-part manifest to a new two-part hybrid e-Manifest system.
Why are these changes necessary?
This change is not only more environmentally responsible by reducing paper consumption, but it is necessary to avoid compliance issues with the EPA based on their Final e-Manifest Third Rule which amends hazardous waste manifest regulations.
When do the changes go into effect?
The deadline for EPA registration is Jan. 22, 2025. Clean Harbors will be implementing a transition to a hybrid e-Manifest throughout 2025.
How will this change affect my waste collection service?
This will not impact your current service with us other than your new reporting requirements.
Are you leaving a copy behind for me as a receipt?
Yes, when using a paper or hybrid manifest, we will leave you a copy.
How do I receive an electronic copy of a completed manifest?
You can access them easily through our online customer portal. Sign-up now, it’s free! You can also use the EPA’s e-Manifest system once you are registered.
Can I use the Clean Harbors Online Customer Portal for RCRA inspections?
Yes, once you are registered for e-Manifest you can use our online customer portal to access records stored in your online account to satisfy the manifest recordkeeping requirements. You can also access a manifest through the EPA’s e-Manifest system.
