Clean Harbors has once again been named as a “Top Company for Women to Work For in Transportation.”
This was the fifth consecutive year the company has earned the honor, which was announced earlier this month by “Redefining the Road” magazine, the official publication of the Women in Trucking Association (WIT).
In 2018, WIT created the award to promote the accomplishments of companies that are focused on the employment of women in the trucking industry.
“Empowering women in trucking isn't just a goal; it's a commitment to fostering an inclusive and innovative industry,” said Senior Vice President of Transportation Compliance Gwen Hill. “Being recognized as a top company for women to work for in transportation reflects our dedication to championing diversity, breaking barriers, and paving the way for future leaders. Together, we drive change!”
Several characteristics define the companies included on the list, including a corporate culture that fosters gender diversity; competitive compensation and benefits; flexible hours and work requirements; professional development opportunities; and career advancement opportunities.
Qualified companies also must meet minimum requirements of what they report through the WIT Index, the industry barometer that benchmarks and measures the percentage of women who make up critical roles in transportation.
Clean Harbors is one of 134 companies to earn the award this year. Winners were recognized at the WIT Accelerate! Conference and Expo. event Nov. 10-13 in Dallas, Texas.
