At Clean Harbors, our drivers are the critical link from our Company to our customers. Helping our drivers define, track and improve their performance is, therefore, another one of our main priorities.
Lambton drivers are trained using a program that is designed to fit the company's unique business environment. This comprehensive program allows our drivers to strengthen both their motor vehicle operation and hazardous waste management skills.
Through a four- to six-week orientation course and regularly scheduled training workshops, our drivers expand their knowledge and expertise in:
- Ontario and other Canadian province waste management regulations
- Federal and provincial workplace health and safety regulations
- Federal Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act requirements
- Federal and provincial highway safety requirements
- Hours of service regulations and documentation requirements
- Contingency planning and emergency response
- Personal protection equipment fit testing and safe use procedures
- United States hazardous waste operations and emergency response (HAZWOPER)
- Canadian Driving Council defensive driving
- United States and Canadian waste manifest procedures and requirements
- Vehicle and equipment safe operating procedures
